Despite the ferocious nature of these beasts, it’s impossible not to see artistic appeal in this, the first of two WW1 Trench Clubs which I believe are of British make.
With a wooden shaft approximately 400mm in length the club has a ball top with a 35mm lead core running its entire width and secured to the shaft by a steel pin with copper washer.
The base of the shaft has a hole drilled for a lanyard while the grip has a number of random cuts to avoid it slipping from the hand.
Overall condition is very good.
