A WW2 WAAF Other Ranks Hat named to 2004658 Vicky Fletcher.
The Hat has become somewhat squashed over time and a true appreciation of its shape shows in the last image where I have photographed the inside, nevertheless I feel it’s true shape could be restored.
Constructed in the standard RAF blue/ grey Barathea with a stiff peak and soft turn up at the back, an RAF brass other ranks badge is in place on the mohair hatband, below which a thin black chinstrap sits secured by two cloth covered buttons. The top section is pleated with a pair of eyelets at each side.
Inside, there is some distress to the lining as there is the mohair hatband but there is no sign of moth or other damage.
