A very nice and, of course, completely inert example of an M1915 Kugel Hand Grenade ( Kugelhandgranate)
Essentially a simplified version of the Model 1913 fragmentation Grenade, this piece is in overall very good condition with minor age chips to the cast alloy body. A 5 impressed in the fuse suggests this to be a 5 second fuse, which is also in very good condition.
Large and heavy, the M15 was only marginally successful, with a hand launch distance of only about 15 meters.
Nice display piece.
