A scarce WW1 German issue aluminium Drinking Cup in good condition with some dents.
The Cup is unmarked however this is the pre 1915 version made in aluminium. From 1915 onwards to save on aluminium these were made of steel, first tin plated and then enamelled.
WW1 aluminium Drinking Cups are easily discernible from their much more common WW2 counterpart by having the all important spout to the rim and are often seen hanging from the Bread Bag in period photos yet true WW1 examples are really not very easy to source.
