A very good serviced used example of a rare Organisation Todt Belt Buckle.
Die stamped steel construction Belt Buckle with a matt silver/grey finish, the buckle features a smooth, outer field with a high relief, embossed eagle with cross shovels and a sword surmounting a section of the west wall defence line. The Org. Todt control mark is clearly stamped under the roller bar.
Overall condition is very good with minor loss to the painted finish on the lower edge.
"Organization Todt" was established in June of 1938 when the Inspector General for Roads, Dr. Fritz Todt, was tasked with the construction of the "West Wall" (also known as the "Siegfried Line"). Under army planning and supervision, the experienced civil engineers and workers provided by civilian contractors to the organization would also make significant contributions in constructing submarine pens, the "Atlantic Wall," and roads, bridges, buildings and field fortifications within Germany and the occupied territories. After the outbreak of war, uniforms and rank insignia were provided
