Luftwaffe Four Pocket Uniform Tunic

SOLD

Code: 10484

An excellent unissued example of a Luftwaffe Four Pocket Uniform Tunic to a Flieger in a Flak Regiment.
Similar to the Service Tunic with the exception that these had an extra button plus a special collar cut allowing it to be worn open or closed. It was designed embodying the features of the Service Tunic it eventually replaced and was not introduced for wear until November 1938, this example being dated 1939.
Closure is by five pebbled buttons with an additional button and cloth strap at the neck. There are four pleated pockets again with pebbled buttons. All buttons are dated 39.
The collar is piped in a red twisted cord and the collar patches are originally applied. Each shoulder has a slip on strap with red waffenfarbe. The original detachable neck protector ( Kragenbinde) is in place for use when worn without a shirt.
Above the right breast pocket is a machine embroidered eagle but I believe this to be a later addition since it is machine stitched through the lining.
Overall condition is very good to excellent with one moth hole to the left of the right breast pocket.
The last image is shown with an M43 cap which is not included but which is available elsewhere on this website.
