British 1914 Duralumin War Knife

SOLD

Code: 10525

A very nice example of the 1914 Duralumin War Knife by Thomas Turner, Sheffield.
The body is 105mm in length with two cutting blades, one 75mm in length another short blade and a spike.
Overall condition is really very good. The closure springs are strong (as I discovered to my cost!), the cutting blades have not been sharpened or shortened and are without damage. The lanyard loop remains in place
As the name suggests the main body appears to be of Duralumin, aluminium mixed with other metals such as copper and zinc and still used today in the aviation industry.
Although no doubt extensively carried by WW1 servicemen the Duralumin Knife was not an issue piece but available for private purchase.
