1st. pattern Luftwaffe Dagger

A very nice example of a First Pattern Luftwaffe Dagger by Puma, complete with its original scabbard, hanging chain and portapee.

Dagger hilt fittings are of silvered pot metal, the pommel and crossguard with the gilded sun wheel Swastika to both sides, both showing slight abrasions to one side only.

The wooden grip is wrapped in blue Moroccan leather with dual twisted nickel/silver plated wire.

The blade is full length at roughly 31cm, bright nickel/silver plated, drop forged steel, double edged stiletto style with a flat central plane.

Ricasso is well marked with the stamped manufacturers logo, trade name and location the logo being the well known Puma head. The original blue leather washer is intact.

The scabbard is in excellent condition, blue Moroccan leather wrapped scabbard with three silvered steel fittings. All scabbard screws are in place. The top and centre fittings each have a hanger ring and an integral  alloy hanger with four circular links to the top hanger and six circular links to the bottom hanger, perhaps indicating this was worn by a man of shorter stature.
