An exceptionally nice example of a Single Decal Heer M42 Helmet. The shell is completely without damage and retains virtually all the original factory applied granulated field grey finish, the decal clear and with minor surface loss only.
Inside, the stampings are only partially discernable on the back of the skirt without those of the manufacturer or size. However, there is no doubt in my mind this is a size 66 shell.
The liner appears never have to have been removed and remains supple and without loss. Forum discussion on German helmets Wallhalla confirms it to be original but sadly some uniformed person has applied a leather dressing which has darkened it considerably. The drawstring is not original and there is no chinstrap.
