Infantry Officer's First Model Model Drillichbluse

SOLD

Code: 55494

An excellent example of a first model Drillichbluse (herringbone twill) made in a natural linen and following the style of the M43 Feldbluse and tropical jacket. Used for both combat and normal duty these lightweight garments were popular and comfortable.
This example is in very good + condition and shows little if any signs of use. All insignia appears originally applied and favourable forum discussion has revealed the breast eagle to be a known privately made variety executed in an off white cotton thread.
Shoulder boards are the slip on variety but with the securing buttons stitched into place and are to an infantry oberleutnant, the branch of service again reflected in the silver wire collar bars. Inside the collar are the five buttons paste buttons to hold a collar band.
The tunic is closed with six pebbled buttons held in place with the correct S rings, as are the buttons on the four pockets. The neck is closed with a hook and eye. Each cuff is open with two paste buttons to allow for adjustment.
The tunic is unlined but with protective rayon panels and rayon dressings pocket.
The chest size of approximately 38" allows for an impressive mannequin display.
