LRDG 1941 Dated Beret

Another fine example from the Long Range Desert Group collection is this 1941 dated Surpak manufacturing Company Ltd. Beret with a particularly nice LRDG Badge in a nicely toned bronze.

As always, the Badge is of course the focal point of this listing, the badge being completely without damage with both fixing posts in place along with its sprung pin and showing a nice, almost darkened silver appearance.

The Beret is no less pleasing. A good size 7 it is completely free from moth and displays all the features we like to see, a leather trimmed border, two enamelled ventilation grommets backed with a leather rectangular patch and the hand applied loose stitching for the under lining stiffener. There is clear evidence of a slider badge having previously been in place, but all LRDG personnel were drawn as volunteers from other regiments, so this is in no way unusual.
