Not to be confused with the much more commonly encountered aluminium version this is a rare early silvered tombac Luftwaffe officer’s Summer Tunic Breast Eagle.
Weighing some 22.83 grams this example has the Assmann logo and D.R.G.M raised from the casting on the reverse. The fixing pin is straight, and the eagle and Swastika are completely free from damage but with some wear to the silvered finish, perhaps resulting from having been worn on a leather private purchase jacket with resulting wear from a lifevest or parachute harness.
