Fairbairn Sykes 1st Pattern Fighting Knife

SOLD

Code: 55615

Now becoming so difficult to find this excellent example of a First Pattern Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife is in overall very good condition and shows just the right amount of service wear.

Pommel, grip and S shaped crossguard show no loss to the nickel plating, the grip still sharp to hold.

The blade is no less pleasing, completely free from damage it remains free from nicks or bends, the tip, perfect. Both acid etched logos are with light loss to the darkening, exactly as we would expect to see with a service used piece.

The scabbard is again free from damage with the wings still in place, the nickel plated chape with just minor denting at the tip. The frog is again very good, the retaining strap and Newey press fastener in place. Of interest are the stitch holes around the top of the frog, a clear indication in my mind that this was stitched to a pair of BD trousers.

A lovely example that would prove difficult to upgrade
