1934 Dated West Yorkshire Regiment Captain's Service Dress Tunic

SOLD

Code: 55877

A fine example of a pre war Service Dress Tunic to a Captain in the prince of Wales's Own West Yorkshire Regiment.

Tailored in the traditional khaki Barathea by Meyer & Mortimer in London with a label dated 1934 the Tunic is in very good condition and free from moth or other damage. Of note are the impressive oversized regimental collar devices and brass buttons correct for the Regiment.

Complete with it’s waistbelt the tunic has three medal ribbons including those for the Africa and France and German Stars.

This Regiment saw action in North West Europe in 1940 and in the defence of the Alamein Line in North Africa 1940-42. Since there is no Burma star, we have to assume that this officer did not see service in that theatre when the Regiment was redeployed there there.
