Double Etched Heer Presentation Bayonet. Inf. Reg 119

SOLD

Code: 55879

A very nice example of an early double etched Heer Bayonet by Eickhorn Solingen.

A presentation piece this beautifully etched piece displays “Infantry Regiment No. 119 Stuttgart” to one side of the 246mm blade and “ Fur Eirnnerung an Meine Deinstzeit “ (For reminders of my service) to the other, the dedication scroll surrounded by oak leaves, an eagle and Swastika to one end, a helmet with crossed rifles and oak leaves to the other. The blade is completely from damage and retains all the original nickel plating with light draw marks only. The original brown leather buffer is in place below which is the Eickhorn squirrel.

The crossguard is very good showing slight wear where it has rubbed on the frog, the black grips are perfect whist the eagle’s head pommel has some very light tap marks without  loss to the nickel plating . The release button works well, a green felt plug in place in the rifle groove.

Both scabbard and frog are very good, the scabbard without damage but with slight loss to the black paint towards the lower end, the frog with loss to the stitching below the belt loop.

A lovely piece. UK shipping only to those of 18 or over
