Panzer Officer's Peaked (Visor) Cap

A quite beautiful example of a Panzer Officer’s Peaked or Visor Cap by the Munich maker W. Thiele.

Constructed in a high quality wool, there is only one shallow moth trail to the brim and one very small nip to the waffenfarbe  just to the right of the cockade as you look at it but is in otherwise very good lightly used service condition.

Piped with the pink Panzer waffenfarbe and dark green hat band the original owner has nicely pinched the upper to give that “old hand” appearance.

The insignia is originally applied to the Cap, both eagle and cockade being aluminium.

The peak or visor in black vulkanfibre above which sits the silver wire twist chin cord. The underside of the visor is a light tan with the cross-hatch grip pattern.

Sweatband is grey leather with some splits but remains firmly stitched in place. The lining is undamaged with the diamond sweat shield unbroken beneath which is the tailor’s label.

Perhaps the most appealing Cap I have had for some time.
