German M43 Field Blouse (Feldbluse)

SOLD

Code: 56006

A good forum discussed Field Blouse of the type generally referred to as an M43 Tunic.

Constructed in a coarse field grey material synonymous with the economies implemented by that period of the war, the Blouse has two lower bellows pockets and two patch breast pockets, all flapped and closed by a single grey pebbled button. Front closure is by six matching buttons, the extra button added to better preserve the appearance given the poor quality of the material.

Each cuff is open ended allowing for adjustment by two buttons. Both buttons on the left sleeve are missing.

The eagle above the right breast pocket and the infantry collar Litzen are original but poorly re applied.

There are no shoulder straps, forum discussion suggesting the ones the Blouse came with were reproduction and although I will include those if the buyer wants, no account of them has been taken in the sale price.

Inside, the Blouse is part lined in artificial silk, the 1943 depot stamp showing a chest size on 94 cms (37”) Of interest are the Russian Theatre stamps, perhaps accounting for the poorly re applied insignia.

Overall condition is very good, a large circular mark apparent on the left sleeve where a badge was perhaps once present.

A good Tunic requiring sympathetic re application of the insignia.
