Issue Luftwaffe Fliegerbluse To an Officer

SOLD

Code: 56129

An early example of a Luftwaffe Fliegerbluse constructed in a field grade wool with insignia to an Oberleutnant flying branch at the Luftwaffe Training School.

Overall condition is very good showing signs of moderate service use only with only slight mothing as I have shown in the images.

There are two slanted and flapped pockets each closed by a single pebbled aluminium button.

The Bluse is closed by five buttons, the top button missing, and with the neck secured by a single hook and eye when worn that way, a strap usually found under the left collar now removed. Inside each sleeve cuff is an adjusting strap and button.

On the right breast is a hand applied machine embroidered eagle whilst the collar is piped with the silver twisted cord of an officer. The collar tabs are hand embroidered in silver wire on the yellow backing of the flying branch. On each shoulder are appropriate matching slip on shoulder boards secured by screw post silver pebbled buttons. It appears the loops for the boards are of a different cloth and this may have been a period or later adaptation to allow for the use of the boards.

Inside, the Bluse is part lined in a grey cotton drill synonymous with an earlier Fliegerbluse and with good clear markings. There are two inside pockets, each closed by a single button ( one of which is missing) and a dressings pocket.

A very nice example perhaps with reapplied insignia.
